The first MBSR Online Continuation Group (OCG) wrapped up a to positive reviews. Another OCG will be announced soon, it may be every other Tuesday at noon, starting September 13th – November 22. The feedback I have received is appreciated and your suggestions are encouraged – time of day, frequency of meeting and format, whatever you feel you’d like to discuss and practice in relation to cultivating and deepening mindfulness in your life. It is helpful and inspiring to have community to support your practice. Remember, 8 weeks of intensive training, as in MBSR, forms the foundation for moving forward with this lifetime practice and we need to find means of staying connected. There is also the possibility of opening the group or of an added group for folks who have not taken MBSR but would like a convenient, affordable, live practice community from the convenience of one’s own home or wherever you may be!
Two MBSR courses will be offered in the autumn. One on Monday evenings on the UMKC campus and one on Saturday mornings at Sastun Center. Classes will begin the last week of September and first week of October. As always, individual consults are available free of charge to those unable to make an introductory session. Additionally, new MBSR sign ups that are referred by a past participant will receive a complimentary admission to the fall OCG in it’s entirety as will the referring past participant!
While we are in the thick of summer it is hard to imagine the winter months and time will tell if I’ll be overseas this winter once again. It is possible that the next MBSR offerings after fall will not be until spring. More mindfulness course offerings are becoming available every day but if you are looking for the time-tested, evidence-based, MBSR course for high level stress, pain and illness, you are in the right place! Additionally, private, semi-private, specialty mindfulness courses and coaching are available. Did you know that 8 weeks of semi-private (taking with a spouse or friend) mindfulness sessions costs the same as taking group MBSR?
